Global and local mission

At THCC we have a huge heart for the unreached, both in Tower Hamlets and further afield. We believe in Glocal mission; mission that connects global and local.  We give 20% of Tony’s time to support world mission and to help other churches to be more effective in reaching the least reached communities. We love being part of the global church. If you are interested in volunteering or supporting us in mission, please get in touch.

Local mission

As well as running a number of our own community outreach events and courses, THCC supports the work of GrowTH night shelter and Canaan Project which we were part of establishing, and London City Mission.

GrowTH Night Shelter

What is GrowTH?
GrowTH night shelter is an initiative by churches in Tower Hamlets to respond to homelessness in our local community. It provides both immediate shelter for the homeless and help to secure more permanent accommodation. It is open for seven months a year and is based at a different church each night of the week (including THCC). Guests are given a hot meal, friendship and a bed.

Canaan Project

What is the Canaan Project?
Canaan Project work with marginalised girls and young women in Tower Hamlets with a vision to see them flourish. The team connects with young women through a varied and creative programme of experiences and opportunities. We encourage women from THCC to volunteer their time and skills to support this vital work

London City Mission

What is London City Mission?
London City Mission (LCM) shares the gospel alongside local churches in London, equipping everyday Christians to bring a message of hope in Jesus to those least likely to hear it. They provide training, resources and support to churches across the city.

Global mission

THCC is committed to six key partnerships in mission which we support financially as well as with prayer, people and practical skills. These are predominantly in the Muslim World and include Bangladesh and Kosovo amongst others. Tony leads for AOG Great Britain for ‘Mission outside of Europe’.
