Somewhat imperfectly, we love God, we love one another and we love our community.
In response to government advice we have sadly taken the decision to close all activities. We will be doing all we can to support people at this time. Please take a look at our Together page to find out what we are doing.
If you need help, or have ideas as to how we could help, please contact us.
We love our community
Community is a place where people belong, a place where they can be themselves. Sadly, when people in Tower Hamlets talk of community they often talk of the past. They talk of the days when children played out and no-one worried where they were, or they remember growing up in a village on the other side of the world where everyone knew everyone. The modern world can feel cold and unfriendly in comparison.
It doesn’t have to be like that. Over the years, THCC has played its part in creating a place where people can belong. It isn’t the most important thing we do (you’ll find that further down this page), but somehow it’s got into our DNA.
Take a look at the Community menu to see what we’re doing at the moment. You’re very welcome to come along and give something a try – or call the church office if you would like more information.
We love one another
Being extraordinarily loved by people is often a perk of knowing Jesus as our Lord and Saviour. We are a group of messy people who are far from perfect, but we have found that living in relationship with God can do wonderful things for our relationships with one another.
If you are wondering what Christianity is all about, or are looking for a new church in the area, you are very welcome to visit us. We are a Bible-believing, evangelical church of between 100 and 150 adults that is part of the Assemblies of God (AoG) movement. Although we are based in Tower Hamlets and most of us live in Tower Hamlets, people attend from across London
Your best place to start is probably at one of our Sunday services. We have thriving children’s, youth and students’ work and we have an internship programme . You will find that we pride ourselves on being a multi-cultural, multi-generational church full of people that are different to each other.
We place an emphasis on preaching the word, on lively worship, on mid-week Life Groups, on praying together and on sharing life together. We can be a little over caffeinated, but we have a lot of fun. Please do join us.
Above all, we love God
While community is in our name and our DNA, it is our personal relationship with God that matters above all. Yet in all that we do, it is probably in our love for God that we fail the most. No amount of loving our community and no amount of loving one another can ever make up for that. So, along with believers around the world, time and again we find ourselves on our knees asking God to forgive us.
Even here we believe that community matters. Serving alongside each other and meeting together to fellowship, pray, study the word and worship sharpens and encourages us. We are far from perfect, but we are stronger together.
