Church Internship in East London
If you are thinking of taking a gap year before starting university or just want to dedicate a year of your life to serving the local church in East London then the THCC internship might be for you.
“THCC is like a pic and mix (in the best way), there’s always something interesting happening. During my internship I have felt so blessed to be able to serve the local community. I’ve learnt the importance of a smile; you never know who’s going to need one. I love my church!”

Make a difference in East London
Tower Hamlets is the most densely populated part of the UK, which creates huge opportunities to serve the community, grow in faith and love the lost. During your internship you will really make a positive impact on the lives of our neighbours.
Grow in your faith
The THCC Internship provides an excellent grounding in church life, theology, mission and ministry as well as developing leadership skills. It is a great foundation for anyone wanting to serve Jesus in ministry or other contexts.
How we support you
THCC interns are provided with housing for their time with us. We also encourage our congregation to support you financially. We will provide spiritual guidance and teaching as well as shaping your internship to support your personal development.

In short, a lot! You will receive Bible classes and weekly training sessions, covering many aspects of ministry. There’s also a lot you will learn outside the classroom about yourself and others; day-to-day logistics, pastoral care, leadership, a variety of church ministry, evangelism, how to encourage and come alongside people in challenging times, and that Tony is only functional after two coffees.
