Students at THCC

One of the groups that would later form Tower Hamlets Community Church was started by medical students in the 1982. We have been welcoming students ever since.

A place to grow or explore faith

At THCC you’ll hear clear Christian teaching. You’ll get to spend time with Christians who are seeking to live out their lives in obedience to God. If you’re looking to grow in your faith, or if you have no faith and want to explore what that means for others, you’re very welcome.

What do we do?

We run a student Life Group on Tuesday nights. This is an opportunity to meet with other Christian students.

We believe that the best way to experience THCC is to be involved with some of our community activities. However, you are very welcome to just link to the church through the Life Group and Sunday mornings if that works best for you.

THCC also provides support for the universities’ Christian Unions in their work reaching out on campus. We have particularly close links with Queen Mary University of London, Barts and the Royal London and the University of East London.

What do we offer?

We’re not usually boastful, but we do think you’d have to go a long way to match the food you’ll eat if you stay around for long!

More seriously, if you want to find space away from Uni, then we think we have a lot to offer. That’s especially true if you’d like to have some involvement with the local community. If you look round our website you’ll see some of the things that we are involved with.

A little warning

Many people come to THCC for the duration of their course and then move to pastures new. While we are always sad when people leave, we’re glad to have been with them for a part of their lives.

However, over the years there have also been people that have come to THCC expecting to move after Uni and it hasn’t quite worked out that way. In fact, there are one or two who are still here over 30 years later.

So, be warned, if you visit us once thinking that’ll be your only visit, you may still here many years later!
