GrowTH

go to growth

is an evangelical response to poverty in Tower Hamlets. With a focus on homelessness, the charity’s first project is a night shelter run by Christians in churches to house the homeless. GrowTH is compassion driven and evangelical values underpin its desire to see people understand and respond to the Gospel of Jesus and be welcomed into the local Christian community. In this setting their faith can be nurtured and they can discover their God given potential. GrowTH night shelter last opened 1st November 2012 – 1st June 2013.

THCC was one of the founding Churches of the Tower Hamlets Night shelter project and our Pastor Tony serves as its chair person. It’s something we are absolutely committed to and remains at the heart of what we do as a church.  GrowTH brings together  churches to provide accommodation, help with  housing and love, support and the good news of Jesus to rough sleepers in Tower Hamlets from November through to May.  Every Saturday Night THCC provides a hot meal, friendship and a bed for the night to 16 Rough sleepers. We love being able to show Christian care and hospitality; helping people in a way that makes a real difference to their lives. For us it’s about loving and valuing people enough to use the resources that God has given to us. It’s been great to see the impact that this has had on many peoples lives. It’s a core part of our desire to be a church that makes a real difference in the lives of people in our community.
